How do I calculate my savings percentage

Figuring out your savings percentage really puts your savings into perspective!  I like to do this per receipt and then at the end of the month I like to do the whole months savings.  Below we take you step by step to learn how to calculate your savings percentage!

First of all, How much was your purchase total before your coupons?  (some people like to calculate this before coupons & Sales)

For this example we will use

$188.28

Now, how much did you actually pay?  This is considered your “Out of Pocket” cost or OOP.

For this example we will use

$52.47

Now subtract the OOP amount $52.47 from the original price $188.28 to get the amount you saved

$188.28-$52.47=$135.81

Now divide the amount saved $135.81 by the original price $188.28.

$135.81÷$188.28=0.72

Lastly, Move your decimal Point over two spots to the right.

There you have it!!  On this trip we saved

72%!!

Now you can be blown away by how much you are actually saving using coupons!
